Soundscape #118: “Everything Comes From The Mind”
January 23rd, 2009More Tibetan Buddhism this week, I’m afraid. I’ve been reading a lot about Tibetan Buddhism lately. It believes that our minds are obsessed with the sensory world around us, so much so that we take whatever we see around us to be a hard unchangeable permanent reality. However, it is our mind, or rather, what our mind interprets, that changes all the time.

Basically, what this means is that you will only be torturing yourself if you think that what you see is what is out there. Your life will be so much better if you expect it to go up and down, rather than freaking out when things happen to you. In brief, nothing lasts forever and if we were to expect them to, we are only asking for trouble.
