Soundscape #86: “That Which Hath Made Them Drunk Hath Made Me Bold” — William Shakespeare

May 30th, 2008

Drinking is one of the few social evils still widely accepted today. We go out for a drink with friends after toiling for a whole week (or day). It’s really a quick and dirty way to forget your stress. Of course, alcohol affects people differently but affect you it most definitely will.

Depending on what I’m imbibing, I am either a sleepy drunk or a real funny drunk. I don’t know why it is but beer always makes me sleepy, for a while, at least. I have to justify at this point that I can’t really drink very well. But get me past the sleepiness and I’m a totally different person. I laugh, I dance, I say nice things about people (”hey you have beautiful eyes!”, I hug people, I smile like a mad man. I am, under all guises and appearances, happy.
