Soundscape #78: Rattled By The Rush
March 14th, 2008For someone who hates to rush or be rushed, I certainly have to do a lot of it. Most days, I’m either rushing something for someone or I’m rushing someone for something. The bad thing is that I don’t usually remember to follow up and things get pushed to the last minute until I realise I have to have something for someone (or vice versa) by, like, yesterday.

-sel, Descent Into The Maelstrom, 2006.
I’ve tried everything: I have a list of things to do; I even have a GTD system but sometimes it works and other times remembering what I have to do becomes something I have to do as well. It’s shit. The funny thing is, though, that I sometimes do my “best” work when I’m running against time. Especially when I have to come up with something on the spot, I always seem to have lots of ideas. Sometimes I get away with it, and other times I don’t. Even when I come up with what seems like a great idea, seeing it through is not always something I’m good at.
