Soundscape #77: “When Angry, Count To Four. When Very Angry, Swear” — Mark Twain
March 7th, 2008Rage does funny things to people. It can sometimes turn people from Dr Jekyll to Mr Hyde. I’ll be the first to admit that I have an anger problem. Somehow I think I lack the specific capability to not show my anger. If something pissed me off in the office, everyone will know. I would blast some angry-bastard music on my earphones (and that would be louder than if I were to just play through the PC speakers) and stew in my corner, trying not to blow up.
And that’s me “managing” my anger. I once threw my pen against the monitor and stormed out of the office (in front of my boss). Sometimes I go apeshit over the smallest thing, just because it set off a previous anger that I’ve been desperately trying to suppress. To say that I have a hot temper would be an understatement, to say the least. But most of the time, I’m usually more angry with myself for being angry than with the matter at hand.
