Soundscape #67: “Sometimes On The Way To Our Dreams, We Find A New One”
December 21st, 2007We all have something we are working towards, whether it’s a grand plan or a small achievement or even just to get through the day in one piece. In most aspects of life, the destination often determines the types of journeys we take. What happens if on the way to something, we find that we don’t really want it anymore?

Joan Miró. Dog Barking At The Moon, 1926.
It takes the wise to see it as an act of growing up, of maturity. The less enlightened, like myself, often get a little lost and confused and disoriented. If you take away the destination, what good is the journey!? All the time, effort and everything you’ve put into fulfilling the dream and it all comes to naught. It’s disconcerting, to say the least. Of course, if you think about it another way, you’d at least find out what it is that’s so wrong for you — not necessarily the right thing, mind — what it is that you realise you don’t want in the end. Maybe the death of the dream, one that you’ve held so dear for so long, is not the end of the world after all.
I’m getting there.
