I think the picture below is almost the most beautiful thing you can come across when you are working. And if it belongs to me, I’d just about fall over and weep with happiness. To say I’m disorganised is putting it rather mildly. I mean, I know which piles of paper to look into for stuff but then, sometimes I don’t. You won’t even see what color my table top is in my room. I’ve been using Einstein’s quote (this week’s title) as a defence—I’m sure he did the same—but I can’t deny how good it feels when everything gets straightened up.

I guess my problem, as I’m sure is the same with everyone at some point in time, is that I get overwhelmed with incoming stuff. I’ve often scoffed at “productivity” managers and their books in the self-help section but recently David Allen’s Getting Things Done seems to hit the right note with me. He promises instant gratification (of getting things done) but it’s up to you how you want to do it. Digital? Pen and Paper? I remember getting the Palm Pilot when it first came out. At first I was all excited, learning the “special” handwriting, then I began to play games on it, and then I lost the fucking stylus. It took $500 for me to find out that I’m really an analog person. So over the past week, I ‘d spent hours hacking my moleskine and buying files and notebooks and I’m all ready to go! Wish me luck!
